Persecution for the gospels sake
Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
2 Timothy 3 v 12: "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."
When we walk in the truth of the gospel and manifest the power of the Holy Spirit we will suffer persecution. Often that persecution will not come just from non believers but sometimes from people we consider to be our brothers and sisters in the Lord, also at times from leaders in the church. That is when it really hurts and can cause great injury to us. It once happened to me in an evangelical church in Dublin. I arrived there desiring to bless everyone in that church. Many in the church were blessed, some were healed and the Holy Spirit manifested Himself in an amazing way, however the leadership were not too happy and began to oppose what God was doing in and through me. I asked Father God why were these leaders persecuting me. He said to me: " Remember when my Son healed the boy with the withered hand on the Sabbath day? Had My power not been manifested they would not have persecuted Jesus. You are being persecuted because My power is being manifested through you." I heard that this particular church had recently had their sanctuary (auditorium) repossessed by the bank. It saddened me because we must always remember we do not war against flesh and blood but against demons that are using these people to persecute us, yes it Satan who gets mad with us, therefore we should pray for those who persecute us.
I was searching for a video on persecution but came across this lovely testimony of Sylvester Stallone.....praise God.
