One of two things will happen this year. It can be a year of indulgence, pleasure, wealth, fame, living in the world and not accomplishing those things God has called us to or we can cut off the things that would hold us down and reach forward towards the upward call of God, where we will find fulfilment, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Where the reward is not in temporal things, but in the riches of heaven, it is our choice.
Philippians 3:13: Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
There are those who do not desire the things of God and would seek to bring us down as they lust after the things of this world, who have no conscience or shame, but for their own self-indulgence.
What fellowship hath light with darkness, be ye not unequally yoked with non-believers.
Let us not be entertained by workers of iniquity and be drawn into their flattering words and perverted lifestyles, allowing the things of the world to choke the Word which is in us. We are saints of God and Kings. Father God loves us as much as He loves Yeshua His Son. We are seated with Yeshua in heavenly places, above principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness. We are spiritual kings and priests.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;
Many of us are called, but few are chosen. Many of us have been called, but we have done our own thing. Are we going to let another year slip by as the 12th hour approaches? When we stand before God will He say: “Well done my good and faithful servant?”. Let this year not go by without God choosing us. It’s time to be ruthless and cut off all the deadwood that would prevent us from fulfilling the call of God and putting the King of Kings first. Which one of those two things will happen for you this year?
