Monday morning I peddled from Corolla to Kitty Hawk on a relatively flat rear tire and broken spoke, hoping to find the bike shop about 26 miles away. On arrival I met a young tall brown haired chap called Chip, who told me he was inundated with work and the best he could do is for me to leave the bike there and he would let me know when the bicycle would be ready. I made my way to find a bite, not more than 700 yards up the road was a Pizza place, I sat myself down at the bar counter. a sweet young lady said they had a special on for $1 a slice, I ordered 3 slices and a refreshment to wash it down, mmm it was good and I was hungry. By 3.30 p.m. Chip called and $20 later I was on my way again. I cycled a further 12 miles up the road where I set up camp on a sand dune over looking the sea, it looked beautiful with the sun setting and the waves breaking along the shore, however the wind was strong. I got a bit jumpy when I saw a white animal a bit bigger than a dog, move past quite fast about a 130 meters away. I still have no idea what it was. A game ranger in Africa said "When you snore it tends to scare the animals away, I thought:" thank you Lord I am a snorer. Pics to cfollow.
