I was dropped off by Paul at mid afternoon in Virginia Beach. It is a town which was mainly a residential area for those in the navy, although it has grown to become a tourist destination with block upon block of holiday apartments and hotels.
Pat Robertson who once ran for president in 1988 and has his own T.V. network, Christian Broadcasting Network. He also hosts the well known 700 Club and is founder of Regency University and Operation Blessing.
On arrival I changed into my swimming trunks, pushed my bicycle onto the beach, pulled my shirt off and galloped into the sea. After half an hour of paddling around in the sea I lay my little red towel down, just about big enough to cover my torso and crash landed on it, basking in the mid day sun until the sun began setting.
I made my way to the boardwalk, where I began putting my socks and socks on, I suddenly remembered I had lost my key to the bicycle lock on the beach, so asked a pretty, young brunette lady sitting on the next wooden bench next to me if she would watch my bike whilst I go back to the beach to see if I could find the key. She said "Sure...good luck ". I followed the trail of the bike wheels to where I was sitting and looked around,a few seconds later my heart jumped for joy as I spotted it.
She looked surprised when I told her I had found it. We began talking, she said she was here on business from D.C. and that she went to a non denominational church there. I asked if she had been baptised in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. She said "No". I found myself expounding on it, she took it all in like a sponge ,I could feel her spirit drawing it out of me. She said no one had ever explained Baptism of the Holy Spirit to her before. We prayed and she went off to meet a friend. I made my way to McDonalds to use their WiFi and see if I couldn't find a place to sleep by searching the internet. The family that were meant to host me were not answering their phone. McDonalds began filling up with tramps carrying there sleeping bags. It was time to leave, I cycled around to find a camping spot but where ever I looked there were tramps, I began to feel compassionate towards them, one tramp even offered to buy me a coffee, I wondered if I looked that run down.
Eventually I gave up on the camping idea and dipped into my pocket to negotiate a hotel room with a little no nonsense Indian fellow. I asked how much is a room? He said "59 dollars", I said:"Tha'ts too much I can get a room down the road for forty". He responded "Den go der", I looked at him, he looked at me, we looked some more, "Okay, for you, I make it 45 dollars" I retorted "How about 40?" "No,it's my final price".
I accepted,it was the end of our negotiation. I had a quick bath and slipped into a deep sleep
